Join Erin for a fun, beginner-friendly introduction to fused glass! In this class, you’ll create a stunning sea wave-inspired glass piece—perfect for adding a coastal touch to your home or giving as a unique handmade gift.
During class, you will design and assemble your project on an 8" round glass base, layering shades of blue, aqua, and white glass to capture the movement of ocean waves. Erin will guide you through techniques to create depth, texture, and flowing water effects. We will be building our artwork on an 8" glass circle.
This project will be a flat finished piece, suitable for wall display or for use with a metal stand (stand not included in the class price).
You’ll learn how to cut and prepare glass, build your design, and gain a basic understanding of how glass fuses in the kiln. Safety will also be covered, and safety glasses (provided) are required during class.
All materials are included, including frit (crushed glass), vitrigraph stringers (hand-pulled by Erin), and a variety of transparent glass.
Optional: You may add pre-cut glass shapes (such as sea life or accents) to your design. These are available for purchase at glassmaniastudios.com, and students receive a 15% discount for the class. A coupon code will be provided after registration. If you would like specific shapes, please place your order at least 5 days before class so they are ready for you. A limited selection of best-selling shapes will be available during class, but availability is not guaranteed.
After class, Erin will fire your piece in the kiln. Pickup details will be provided during class, with most projects ready in approximately 7–10 days.
