Printmaking on Silk (Transfer Designs from Neckties)

PREREQUISITE: No experience needed. (Very simple to do).

This is a unique and very technique No artistic skills are necessary and therefore it is fun for everyone!  There is no right or wrong way to do it and there are lots of fun surprises along the way!
 
Come explore a technique that lets us transfer designs from silk neckties directly onto silk. It's like magic!  I will provide you with silk scarves (or runners) but you are welcome to bring in something silk instead if you'd rather. (A blouse would be beautiful - needs to be 100% silk!).
 
We'll cut up cut up and lay out a variety of silk neckties onto our blank silk scarves to begin the transfer process. And then the "magic" begins - be ready for oohs and awws at what happens next. No matter what happens, you'll all go home with beautiful and one-of-a-kind unique silk scarf.
 
There are three scarf sizes to choose from, long or square. (See below). Depending on the size you choose, you will go home with one or two scarves. All supplies are included. Let me know which size you'd like at checkout. Choose from: 
 
2 small @ 8"x54" OR
1 large @ 30"x30"OR
1 large @ 15"x60"
 
This project takes a lot of silk neckties. I have been collecting them for this class, and have plenty for everyone, but if you enjoy the hunt, you are welcome to bring some too (optional)! Make sure there is a tag on them that says 100% silk - no guessing).
