Coiled Flower Bowl (The one shown in photo hasn't been fired or glazed yet. Check back soon for an updated photo). Make clay coils to 2 day class + a pick up time Aug 3 (1-3:00), Aug 17 (1-2), plus pickup Aug 20 (10am-11) Adults 14+ No clay experience is needed. Wear a paint shirt or apron All supplies are included except please bring a bowl from home to drape the clay over (see below). Use clay coils to form a ceramic bowl with a flower design. Use it as a sculputral piece or to hold items (fruit, hair ties, etc). Clay and glaze are food-safe. You'll will form one or two bowls and leave them to dry. They will be fired in a kiln. In the second class you’ll apply glaze and it will be left to dry again and fired a second time. Your bowl will be available for pick up Aug 20 at 10-11am (or make other arrangements with me). Bring a bowl from home (or use one of mine) to use as a mold: Any shape is fine - tall and narrow or wide and flat, etc. Your new bowl will take the shape of your bowl from home. If you are a beginner to clay and have never made coils before, please bring a bowl having a top opening diameter of 6"- 8." (One I have shown had 7" opening). Those of you who are comfortable working with clay are welcome to go as large as 12" if you'd like. If anyone would rather make two small bowls (that equal up to 12") that is fine too. I will have a few bowls here for anyone to use if needed.
