Join Erin for a fun, beginner-friendly introduction to fused glass! In this class, you’ll create a beautiful pocket vase wall hanging—perfect for displaying small flowers or greenery and adding a unique handmade touch to your home.
 
During class, you will design and assemble your glass piece using a clear base and layers of colorful glass. Your finished project will be formed into a pocket-style vase during the firing process.
 
You’re welcome to create any design you like, from floral to abstract. Erin will demonstrate techniques for working with frit (crushed glass), vitrigraph stringers (hand-pulled glass), and other embellishments to bring your design to life.
 
You’ll learn how to cut and prepare glass, build your design, and gain a basic understanding of how glass fuses in the kiln. Safety will also be covered, and safety glasses (provided) are required during class.
 
All materials are included, along with a variety of transparent/opal glass, frit, and stringers.
 
Optional: You may add pre-cut glass shapes to your design. These are available for purchase at glassmaniastudios.com, and students receive a 15% discount for the class. A coupon code will be provided after registration. If you would like specific shapes, please place your order at least 5 days before class so they are ready for you. A limited selection of best-selling shapes will be available during class, but availability is not guaranteed.
 
After class, Erin will fire your piece in the kiln and shape it into a pocket vase.
 
Your finished piece will be ready for pickup approximately 7–10 days after class, with pickup details provided during the session.
