INSTRUCTOR: Erin Warner, glassmaniastudios.etsy.com

Erin will teach you how to make glass suncatchers that will brighten up any window in your home. These make a colorful decorative feature on any wall and also make a great gift for that special someone.

The indoor suncatchers are made of one layer of glass and decorated in any style you choose. You may do flowers or an abstract design on the base glass. Erin will show you how to make flowers or other objects out of glass scrap. These suncatchers will be on a 6” glass base.

You will learn how to cut glass, prep the glass, and create a design of your very own. We will discuss the nature of glass and how to fuse in a kiln. We will discuss classroom safety; you will be required to wear safety glasses while in the class (which will be supplied for you).

The following glass will be supplied at the class. We will use frit (small shards of glass), base layer glass, vitrigraph stringers (strings of glass pulled out of my home studio kiln) and glass scrap.

Suncatchers will be fired in a kiln. A pick up date for your projects will be determined at class.
